Hey there! My name's Jeff, and I'm living the dream in Peveto Beach, SW Louisiana. I mean, who wouldn't want to swap Malibu for Johnson Bayou, right? I used to rub shoulders with movie stars and millionaires in Malibu, but now I'm all about that wildlife and beach life here. It's like a constant nature show in my backyard! So, stay tuned for more adventures in the bayou – it's a wild ride, y'all! And remember, as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Wise words, Ralph, but sometimes I feel like I've left a trail of mosquito bites instead!

Living in Peveto Beach has been a refreshing change of pace for me. I've always been drawn to the natural beauty and serenity of the bayou, and being able to immerse myself in this environment every day has been truly rewarding. From the breathtaking sunsets over the marshes to the calls of the wildlife echoing through the air, every moment here feels like a new adventure waiting to unfold.

One of the things I love most about living here is the sense of community. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and there's a real sense of camaraderie among the locals. Whether we're coming together for a crawfish boil or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, the spirit of togetherness is truly heartwarming.

Of course, living in such close proximity to nature does come with its challenges. Mosquitoes, for one, seem to have a particular affinity for me! But hey, I've learned to take the good with the bad, and a few mosquito bites are a small price to pay for the privilege of calling this beautiful place home.

So, as I continue to embrace all that Peveto Beach has to offer, I invite you to join me on this journey through the bayou. There's always something new to discover, and I can't wait to share the wonders of this unique and vibrant ecosystem with you. Stay tuned for more stories, more adventures, and more of the incredible experiences that make life in the bayou so special!

Why Leave Malibu California, for Johnson Bayou Louisiana?
Ballon crash
Grant Adamson, One of the Good Guys
Our friend and employer of 11 years tragically met his end in a hot air balloon crash. Meanwhile, my wife, Cheryl, faced her own challenge when she had a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage and spent 26 days in the ICU at Ronald Reagan Medical Center. It’s a miracle she’s alive—and I’m convinced she’s now got a direct line to the heavenly healthcare plan! Rest in peace, Grant. When Cheryl finally started to feel like herself again, I asked what her next adventure would be. After 11 years living the glamorous life on Malibu beach, she declared she wanted a simpler life—preferably on a beach where the sand didn't come with a side of celebrity sightings. I jokingly suggested Holly Beach, Louisiana, where the hurricanes roll in like uninvited guests at a party (hey, maybe the land would be cheaper!). After what felt like a marathon of searching, she found us a spot on Peveto Beach, just outside of Holly Beach. We jumped in the car faster than a kid spotting the ice cream truck and secured the lots. Then we headed back to Malibu to wrap things up, but not before a weird guy started threatening our family—because, of course, nothing says “I love Malibu” like a sprinkle of craziness! Our employer, in a fit of generosity and maybe a little paranoia, hired bodyguards for us. After assessing the local “crazy meter,” we decided to pack our bags and leave on April 1st, 2015—because starting a new life on April Fool's Day seemed like the right kind of insane adventure we needed!
